Carolina Márquez Bernard studied Graphic Design and Visual Communication from 2012-2016, and Digital Editorials during Summer University in 2015 at BAU, College of Arts and Design Barcelona, Spain. In 2022 she completed her Master of Visual Communication at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
She has participated in talks and workshops by Prof. Dr. Sarah Owens, Noam Toran, Vera Sacchetti, and The Rodina Studio among others.

Her work focuses primarily on editorial design, photography, and cultural research. Carolina explores design from the theory and practice, expanding her knowledge and practice through multidisciplinary collaborations that propose new forms of human-environmental interaction.
She has collaborated in projects presented in spaces including Curtidas Art Space Barcelona (2018), Helmhaus Zurich (2019), The Glasgow Gallery of Photography United Kingdom (2020), Amöbe Art Space Vals (2020), Swissgraphic (2021), Löwenbräukunst Zurich (2021), Showcase Design ZHdK (2022), DDE Project of the Day (2022), and Hochparterre Magazine (2022).

Carolina was awarded with the ZHdK Förderpreis Design Award 2022 for her project Speaking Bread. Relationships beyond Materiality, which will be officially published with Spector Books in December 2023. She took part as panelist at the conference Counterparts: Exploring Design Beyond the Human by Swiss Design Network 2022, has been invited to present her artistic work in the cultural annual event Zurich meets Copenhagen 2023 organized by the city of Zurich, the canton of Zurich and the Zurich Tourism Association, and has been nominated for the Josef Müller-Brockmann Award 2023.
